Laurie joined firstvets in 2004, starting out at our Heaton surgery where she qualified as an RVN. She now works at the Billy Mill surgery.

Kim joined firstvets in 2009 and now works part-time at our Low Fell branch.

Sarah Robson RVN
Heaton
Sarah started working at firstvets as an auxiliary nurse in 2003 when she was 18. She progressed on to become a trainee nurse and then a student nurse at Myerscough College. Sarah qualified in 2012 and is now also a clinical coach, helping to train our student nurses. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing but particularly training others, nursing clinics and running the puppy parties.
In her spare time Sarah enjoys socialising with friends, dancing, visiting new places and looking after her three cats Stanley, Alvin and Dora.

Claire Spraggon RVN
Heaton
Claire joined the firstvets team at Heaton, Newcastle in 2009 as a night carer looking after in-patients. An opportunity arose for her to carry on her training as a student at Myerscough College where she undertook her Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing finally qualifying in November 2016.
Claire loves the hands-on nature of her job, particularly surgical nursing and anaesthesia. Her main interests lie in feline care where she hopes to one day undertake the ISFM Diploma in Feline Nursing. In her spare time Claire enjoys cooking, catching up with friends and lazy days indoors with her spoilt, grumpy cat Bartholomew.

Louise Towse RVN
Heaton
In 2004 Louise worked in practice whilst studying for her National Diploma in Animal Management. After gaining this qualification she went on to do veterinary nursing at Myerscough Collage and UCLAN, qualifying as veterinary nurse in 2008. Her interests include animal nutrition and surgical nursing. She is also a clinical coach, and helps with the training of student veterinary nurses.
Louise moved to Newcastle from Saltburn in April 2016, when she became part of the team at firstvets. Louise and her Collie cross Whippet, Maisy have been enjoying exploring Newcastle and Northumberland.

Beth Hakin

Beth joined firstvets in September 2016.

Katie Walker
Student Veterinary Nurse at Heaton
Katie started working for firstvets in 2010 and her first job role was a night nurse, but after a short while she was given the opportunity to become a trainee veterinary nurse. She thoroughly enjoys her job and has a wide variety of pets at home. Katie is the proud owner of a Great Dane, Bella, a cockatiel, Spike and a green cheeked conure, Mac. She has a strong interest in birds and has owned many breeds over the years, which has helped greatly with her knowledge of them. In her spare time Katie loves spending time with her son as well as the rest of her family and pets.
